the forgettables . . .

So tonight Im sitting in the park, and in the course of a little over an hour there was something like three different emergency calls. Firetrucks and police responding Code 3 (lights and sirens) up or down Newhall Ave.

Then on my way home, there was another fire call with trucks headed down San Fernando Road to yet one more call.

I guess this all just brought to mind how much is going on out there in the world around us, and we dont even think about it. People are dying and this is the only indication that we see. So, yeah . . . these incidents are all taking place around us and we are forgetting them as soon as we go driving down the street. Its sad really, so much going on in our own lives that we blank out on these situations happening around us all the time. 3 times tonight in like 2 hours . . . so, yeah . . .

Lets stop and consider whats going on the next time an ambulance goes by, or the fire engine with lights flashing, and take a moment to pray for what we cant see, whats going on out there away from out little world. Lets not make them forgettable, lets remember them. To someone they mean more then slowing down to let the responders through traffic.

  1. Isn’t it funny how sometimes it stikes you all of a sudden? One day, we’re oblivious to anything and the next…overwhelming reality. It is sobering to say the least
