Has it really been a month?!?!?!?!

So in defference to Jess . . . I am here to post tonight . . . assuming that I dont get sidetracked with email or IM beings that I am online . . .

So what have I been up to the last few weeks that I havent been posting? This is a very good question and I really dont know what all I can do to enlighten you . . .

I am working a full 40 hours a week at the PD and also have been working up to VBS this week, I got/get/have to compile the sound effects for the skits. It is fun to do and really isnt to hard, but it is tough beings that I lack a certain original creativity that would lead to some awesome sounds . . . but everyone seems to be pleased with what I have come up with so I just keep plugging through.

This past Saturday I was able to go over to Kearney and visit Briana . . . those of you from school know the story, but for the rest of you I will explain. Briana and her grandfather were driving from California to Iowa . . . and about 4:30am on June 15th as they were going down I-80 the right rear tire disentegrated sending the SUV into the median where it rolled 3 or 4 times, ejecting both occupants in the process. Briana ends up in the median but her grandfather lands in the oncoming lanes. Apparently a passerby stopped and pulled him off the roadway and tried CPR and such to keep him alive but he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Briana was airlifted from the scene to a larger hospital in Kearney where she was in ICU for a few days. She was then recovering in a private room and is currently as of today on her way home.

From talking with her mom who was able to come out, she has no recollection of the first 4 or 5 days in the hospital due to the drugs and such. But when I stopped in she recognized me from school, although I have to note that I do not think we have ever met until Sat.

Pray for her, she is doing fairly well but has a ways to go before she is back on the court. She is determined to play this year so hopefully things continue to heal up and we can see her back on the volleyball team.

Other news is scarce to come by . . . . . but I think I have one more lead for you.

I am right now planning a trip to Arizona for the end of July. I say I am planning but really I am just tagging along with the Alpha Omega college group that I hang out with here at home. The plan is to host/run a VBS for the kids at the church we are going to . . . in Window Rock, AZ. Yeah I have no idea what it is called . . . but I am sure that I was told at one point.

Also we are doing some door to door outreach as well as some sort of finishing and/or painting on the building. I am excited to get out and go do something again . . . I know I just got back from Israel like 2 months ago but I have the feeling like I need to keep going and be doing things all over . . . so hence the trip.

The most thrilling part of this trip though is not that I am going to AZ and back but that on the way down and maybe on the way back I get to stop and see Tina in Pueblo, CO . . . and if you know her you know that this will be a super fun time!

I think my brother is going with us, but he just got a home loan approved so he might be staying to work that week so he can save enough cash for the down payment.

And I got to thinking about that and it is kinda weird. This is my brother . . . MY brother . . . nearly two years younger then I am . . . and he is buying a house and moving out and getting married sometime in the next year or two and here am I . . . in school.

Oh well . . . God knows best and has put each of us in the position where we find ourselves for a far superior purpose then we can imagine.

Finally I have decided that I love the smell of freshly cut alfalfa . . . drove past some the last few days and realized that I never smell it around school, it is impossible to describe . . . but wonderful to encounter.

May God bless according to HIS riches in glory . . . riches that cannot be exausted!!

  1. Amos, buddy, I hate to get picky here but your guess was supported by lack of data, not the data itself. Your argument stands valid had I said nothing. If I had mentioned nothing about asking people for social engagements you could have taken the lack of specifically in not denying it to be grounds that it is actually there. I agree, what I posted was open and undefined allowing for interpretation, but your conclusion is again not based on data, but the lack thereof.

Reuben, buying a house. Scary. But I understand him not wanting to be absent for a week then. That is a good chunk towards an investment like that.
