Why??

Why is it that more and more of the people I know are getting married?

and perhaps more importantly, why are they progressively younger and younger then me??

So its like the people that are my age have now been married for a while and are having kids, and then some of my friends that started school a year or two behind me are now getting married . . . or are almost married. I keep finding out about currently dating couples, or recent engagements, or just happened weddings, or newly expectant parents. And its . . . exciting and yet at the same time kinda depressing . . . its like amaizng to see what God is doing with people, and at the same time kinda hard cause Im sitting here feeling like Im stuck in the mud.

In other things Ive been spending my last few free days with one of my profs from school, and it has been such a great time. We are working on his DVD collection, getting it all catalogued on the computer so he can find what he is looking for and knows what he actually has . . . so far I think he is up to something like 1200 entries on his spreadsheet, and there are still thousands left . . . I think I love going over there because its just a comfortable home, good friends, fun company, and just a relaxing project to work on. I dont know why, but I love it over there immensely. Am I a nut? For wanting to spend more time with my prof?

  1. Lol, I’m starting to have it happen already, I’m a teen. Guess it’s because I hang out with people older than me all the time…but it IS weird! Only I don’t get that stuck-in-the-mud feeling. *shrug*

I wouldn’t say you’re a nut…I would say it’s cool that you enjoy spending time with your professor…I think professors are awesome. : )

  2. maybe cuz UR getting older & older….& yes u r a nut…sorry i had ta B da mean sista!
    🙂

  3. as someone who was in the same boat as you for 5 or so years, let me encourage you that it is indeed difficult but when i started focusing on serving them (the friends getting married, having kids, etc) it really helped alleviate the anxiety/depressing aspect of it. i know you already have a servant’s heart, i encourage you to keep serving and just devote yourself to His ministry.
be thankful God has given you this time to serve Him as someone with less this-worldly obligations!

  4. yeah, I know how you feel about people getting married, but we just need to remind ourselves that our time here on earth is short… that God knows exactly what we need when we need it, and right now he is calling us to glorify him in our singleness…

Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep

which prof have you been hanging out with recently?

    on my knees for you,

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” Psalm 32:8

  5. Well, if you are a nut, at least you are a nice one!!!!!! 😉
And, no it’s not weird to like hanging out with your prof…unless he is creepy…which I assume he is not.
And it is weird for people younger than us to get married…maybe they jump into it. Maybe it is because the last 4 years have just flown by us…who knows? God knows.
I’m in the same boat…and sometimes it stinks.
    🙂
